These are accompanied by specially written stories that tell the history of the surroundings in an inspiring, entertaining, and – if rumour has it – not always entirely truthful way.

As a portal town to the southern region of Austria’s “Bucklige Welt”, Bad Schönau is the ideal starting point for excursions, cycling tours or hikes. Those who want to take it at a more leisurely pace can pause time and again on the Ernst-Ferstl-Gedankenweg or the “Weg der Blicke”, and enjoy the wonderful views. Sporty guests can climb the highest point of Austria’s “Bucklige Welt” – the Hutwisch – on foot or by bike.
